Chao Da Ham and a Smart girl
based on this title…it’s actually a last mon blog…but with exams in this week…i’m forced to abandon my ‘post’ n bury myself in pure stress…but i’m back now…laughing all the way…ha ha ha… XD
the chao da ham and the smart girl happened on mon…my first exam paper…i was so stress that i toasted a piece of ham for 20 mins (when a light heating is just rite) in the toaster and it became solid black carbon…it looks kinda neat but i noe i can’t eat it anymore…anw…my mom still doesn’t noe abt it…she would be screaming wat a ham waster i m…
the smart girl happened after my 1st paper (yes, it has nthg to do with the ham)…i went home with a classmate who was on the dean’s list (darn smart she is…dean’s list man)…so the paper that day was law n she talked to me…saying that she wrote a lot of stuff for some qns when i onli wrote like 2 lines…that was slightly a form of stress and it nearly pulled me off track frm my other papers…anw…i didn’t feel so bad after an hr’s nap…
anw…here’s a summary of how my papers went…
1. the law one: like mentioned above…wrote too much for some…n wrote too little for some…n answered the last qn wrongly…*sigh*
2. the computer one: all MCQ…not too bad…but stress cos paper was relatively easy…meaning harder to score better results…
3. the jap one: listening wasn’t really gd cos can’t really hear some…wrote a letter that was not all to the pt thought many sentence patterns were used…n i still cannot spot the mistakes in the spot-the-error sector…
4. the dosage one: lost 6 marks cos i couldn’t finish one part of the qn…time was up…n it was wasteful cos i knew wat to write…darn…on avg…i guess ok lor…
5. the stats one: i figured the calculation qns were taken frm the textbook…but lost 4 marks for using a wrong method…and i nvr knew true or false could be this confusing…i wished for MCQ more…but then MCQs have more choices???…
so ends my day with the last stats paper…after which i waited 20 mins for the internal shuttle bus to get to a public bus stop…then waited 20 mins for a public bus to bring me to the interchange…n took a 45min journey to another bus stop…and another 15mins to get to powerhse…i feel a bit bad cos i was tired after the travelling…but i perservered and stayed awake thru the msg…
WFOP: Word, Fellowship, Obedience, Prayer…tat’s wat God wants…
The end of her horror…the start of mine…
today is the last day of exams for PT…fortunate for her…but it is also the start of my horror life…one wk to exams…with almost nthg done…except for two tiny chapters i did yesterday…
now i’m stuck in sch doing my proj w my frens…deadline today…n i feel i’ll be too tired to do athg else by the tym i return home…darn…n i planned to do dosage form…
PT is all set to scare for joy after her paper today…the end of her misery…n she plans to celebrate too…so she will celebrate the end of her misery…i will celebrate the start of mine…
anw…tis week has been an embarassing week…all the embarrassing thoughts within the sem are returning to me…naturally…i should be busy with the sch such tat i don’t have time for this kinda nonsense…who noes wat my brain is processing now…my oral…my pharm week…”the new yet now missing ID kid on the blog”…ahh!!!!…stop that hammering… XD
i’ve watching a new anime…La’Corda…it’s abt music this time…PT has onli seen the 1st ep n she is crazy abt it…i mean abt the guys (as usual)…not like me…my one and only L…*sigh…anw…the 2nd ep had a piece called Gavotte…i confirmed with a violinist that it is an easy piece for violin beginners…but i like the tune very much and i figured tat i can do it on my keyboard…i manage to figure out the 1st part with one bar missing…do give credit cos i’m doing it by ear…in turn training my ear for better stuff…
so overall, this has been a confusing week…but i will prevail…the Lord is on my side…
Oral…the Only Realistic way to Assess ur Language…test…
oral was in the evening today…honestly, i tink i didn’t do so well cos i was nervous…in youth lang, tat means i screwed up…though i’m never on the approving side of the use of the word screwed up cos it doesn’t sound very nice…
it’s the usual 10 min trauma b4 going in and 10 min regret after coming out…my examiner was a male (some of which i was not comfortable with…actually, it’s the same with almost all older guys…hmmm…) with another observer, my lecturer, siiting behind him…
ok…the conversation was easy, though i might have misused a line…but my personal interview was pretty lousy…i had the feeling that i tink too much until nthg gd came out…but one ting i was glad was tat i prayed to God such tat my face wouldn’t turn too red…
now, it’s normal if ur face turns red in a situation like this it’s ok cos u tend to get nervous…but since i’m classfied as ’snowy’, mine tends to stand out more…i had a bit of prac with one of my sensei yesterday, n my face was bloody red (i’m not using a bad word here…but it was as red as blood…or close enough)…so in any case, i’m glad the redness was not so bad today at oral…u tend to feel the heat even if u cannot see the redness, in case u guys are curious of how i knew my face was red…
i’m glad it was over…but my memories are still kinda haunting me a bit…i need to put my mind on other stuff…exams are drawing near…
Funny conversations…
b4 i begin…let me tell u tat i know the potential risk of getting clubbed or ‘poked’ to death by my junior having to put this on my blog…
plus i like to clarify tat this entry has to do with my press, my junior n me onli…after the 29-comment incident…i figured i better state my references b4 another kid comes along n associates itself with wat i write…when it has ABSOLUTELY nthg to do with it (yes, i’m using it cos i don’t noe if it’s a he or her)…XD…
anw…here’s the weird yet interesting (not guaranteed funny but i guess it has its gd stuff..btw, not in its exact words) on a phone call w my junior(PT)…
Me: Hi, u called?
PT: Yah, ask u huh, do u want to get press (means president) a card?
Me: A card?
PT: Yah, since he is going to Israel.
Me: He is onli going for 2 weeks, why need a card?
PT: To give him encouragement, everybody sign in the card.
Me: I don’t see the need to. It’s not like he is going for a long term.
PT: But it’s nice wat! (here, voice transforming to cute accent)
Me: Ok, up to you, but i won’t be part of it…(i had my reasons n i wasn’t being evil)
PT: (short pause) No lah, just asking if it’s a gd idea…
Me: Well, he is just going for 2 weeks for a holiday, I see no need to get him a card…
PT: Holiday? Not for ministry meh?
Me: -_-!!!…Holiday lah!
PT: Oh issit? Oh yah, to see Jesus…Then nvm, ok, cya…^-^
————————————
i noe my press is going ‘aww’ at my junior…but nvm…life works in mysterious ways…or maybe just my junior…but i guess u can give her the credit for making the effort…hee…XD
Kyou wa omoshorokute, tanoshikatta…
i kinda cannot stop talkin in Jap today…my frens scolded me and has asked me to switch back to English a few times liao….sad desu…the Jap kids were so cute…
in any case…b4 anthg else…i like to clarify tat the previous entry was frm a fren…not by me…however, i must say the comments are hilarious…though anger hidden within…sthg i didn’t expect since i onli found out today while i was taking the Jap kids ard (used Chinese in front of them…so embarrassed
)…i guess technically anyone will be angry when onli a comment of the word “rude” is said (n tat’s all)…but thks for all the comments and feedback…16 comments in one blog…my best ever
… n sorry chain…becos of the hilariousness…i’m not removing the entry…thnks….
ok…back to the kids…my grp of 3 girls (including me) took some Jap kids frm CJPS ard…first to Bukit Chandu and then to NUS…technically my duty should stop by lunch time…but they were so cute tat i had to go with them throughout the whole day…
we had 2 guys and 2 gals (pri 6 hor)…the guys had similar names so my malay fren in the team called them kazu-ichi (means one) and kazu-ni (means two) when they actually should be named kazuaki (aoi) and kazunori (shiroi)…the gals were sayaka and mari…sayaka’s english was the best in the team (team no. 5), while kazu-2 and mari were a little more shy…but wat was interesting was most of them came to S’pore onli last yr…with sayaka frm england and mari frm france (as in where they stayed b4 coming)…so gd…i nvr even had the chance to go these places…lucky kids…oh yes…kazu-1 was the noisy one and very close to kazu-2…they like to buddy buddy each other…so cute…
Bukit Chandu wasn’t a very interesting place…cos the museum there was rather small…but Kent Ridge park was great…with the suspension bridge…the flowers and plants…really pretty…but in any case…the kids made it interesting…
there were times with communication breakdown…like there were a few times i answered wrongly in Jap…the kids got bored having to wait for our ans…-_-!!!…we feel a bit failure…but i guess they got used to us after lunch…i made them remember our names…but they’ll prob forget again…haiz…but becos of them…i cannot stop talkin in Jap…it really feels like an achievement tat someone other than ur classmates understand u…n the kids were great grammar and vocab checkers XD…
apparently…the speech style is suppose to be kids to us: formal; kids to kids: informal…but kazu-1 was, rather, used to his informal speech on us (since he uses it with his teacher) tat he was scolded (by his teacher of course)…the sensei really smacked him hard on the head…i tink i heard one of the blood vessels in my malay fren’s heart snapped…*haha*…she adores them… XD…
back at NUS, we took them to the forum co-op (got fun meh?!)…then the Chinese lib to see Jap bks (so contradicting!) , UCC (a cultural place where the guys ran for 5 mins!) and the Raffles bio-museum (a lot of live-sized animals…dead…which also attracted the guys)…all within 2 and a half hrs…nearly travelled ard the whole sch…btw…Japs are especially punctual…10 mins b4 meetin time…they will rush each other to hurry up…
it was interesting to note that they gals were more easy-going…they went wherever the guys wanted to (maybe becos kazu-1 was the leader…everytime he raised his hands to call for the grp..we, the oldies will also respond ‘Hai!’)…so we went wherever the guys wanted to…the girls so gentle…the guys racked havoc…
by 3pm…it was the end
…my malay fren wanted to go back to their sch with them…with me holding onto her frm behind…my heart felt a little sad…n so did kazu-1 (at least she said he looked sad)…will miss them…but my malay fren said she will sent each of them (including me) a cd containing all the photos taken today…so nice of her…also no need to pay for cd…yeah
for such a gd day…of course…praise the Lord…
